Position Summary
The Project Executive will provide executive-level leadership and oversight for multiple major MEP projects, ensuring successful execution across all phases — from preconstruction through project delivery. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership, guiding project teams, developing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with healthcare construction standards. The Project Executive will serve as the senior liaison with clients, representing the company at the highest levels while mentoring and developing project managers and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for large-scale hospital, medical, and life science projects in Northern California.
- Serve as the primary client executive, building and maintaining long-term relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors.
- Oversee project teams (Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents), ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Guide and approve preconstruction efforts, including estimating, design-assist, constructability reviews, and scope development.
- Ensure compliance with OSHPD/HCAi requirements, safety standards, and industry regulations throughout project delivery.
- Review and monitor project financials, risk management strategies, change orders, and contract negotiations at an executive level.
- Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities for project management staff.
- Represent the company in industry associations, client meetings, and executive-level business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in MEP project management, with at least 5 years in a senior/executive role.
- Proven success overseeing large-scale healthcare and life science construction projects, including OSHPD/HCAi-regulated facilities.
- Deep technical knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing systems in complex healthcare environments.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and client-relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Revit, AutoCAD).
- PE license or advanced certifications in mechanical systems a plus.
