Medical Scribe | Advanced Wound Care

Transform Wound Care. Empower Healing. Lead Where It Matters Most.

At ReNew Wound Care, we're redefining how wound care is delivered across post-acute settings. Our nationwide team of wound care specialists partners with skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and long-term acute care hospitals to provide advanced treatment solutions, reduce hospital readmissions, and improve patient outcomes every day.

We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and proactive Medical Scribe to join our mission of healing and innovation. The Medical Scribe plays a vital role in supporting our providers by accurately documenting patient encounters, ensuring timely and compliant entries into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), supporting Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting initiatives, and facilitating communication between the clinical team and facility staff.

This position is essential in allowing clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Document patient encounters in real time, ensuring accurate and comprehensive medical records.
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and capture relevant patient histories, physical examination findings, wound assessments, procedures, treatments, and provider recommendations.
  • Record wound measurements, treatment plans, dressing changes, and provider instructions with precision and attention to detail.
  • Enter and update patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or designated documentation system in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile pre-filled data during patient encounters to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Review medical records for completeness and collaborate with providers to clarify documentation when necessary.
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and safeguard all patient health information.
  • Support clinical workflow by managing documentation-related tasks, allowing providers to focus on patient care.
  • Complete non-clinical pre-billing amendments within the medical record when operationally appropriate and compliant with documentation standards.
  • Ensure all amendments are limited to correcting administrative, demographic, or pre-populated documentation inaccuracies and do not alter clinical content.
  • Escalate all clinically related corrections, discrepancies, or clarification requests directly to the provider for review and resolution.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate, organized, and audit-ready medical records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to efficient clinical operations by reducing administrative burdens and supporting communication among interdisciplinary care teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or in a clinical healthcare environment, preferably in wound care, geriatrics, skilled nursing, or post-acute care settings.
  • Completion of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, or related coursework preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with MIPS documentation and quality reporting requirements preferred.
  • Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Desired Skills

  • Strong listening, note-taking, and real-time documentation abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and healthcare technology platforms.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflows and medical documentation standards.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and committed to supporting high-quality patient care and provider efficiency.

What We Offer

  • $24.00 / Hour Bi-Weekly Pay
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan + Company Matching
  • Paid Time Off + Sick Leave
