- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid invitations to develop comprehensive project estimates.
- Analyze project requirements and determine competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions, manufacturer relationships, historical bid performance, and product knowledge.
- Identify pricing risks, escalation considerations, and opportunities to improve competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate directly with manufacturers to secure project pricing, understand future pricing trends, and evaluate cost-effective product solutions.
- Monitor project margins, estimating performance, and bid outcomes to continuously improve future pricing strategies.
- Coordinate awarded projects, including material procurement, submittals, project documentation, scheduling, and customer communication.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, problem-solving, and exceptional service.
Requirements
- 5+ years of estimating and/or project coordination experience within construction, building materials, distribution or related industries.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Office, or similar estimating and project management tools.
- Experience evaluating long-term pricing considerations and material cost escalations, independently developing estimating and pricing strategies based on these factors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop bid strategies using market intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, takeoffs, and project documentation.
- Experience managing projects with extended timelines and navigating material pricing fluctuations.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
