Job Description

I’m partnering with Agave, a YC-backed company building AI financial operations for construction.

Agave is building the financial ops platform for a $12T global industry still running on fragmented, outdated, and often on-prem systems.

They’ve spent years building the rails to read and write across those systems — and now use them to deploy AI for invoicing, expenses, compliance, billing, and more.

Recruiting for a Full-Stack Software Engineer (in-person / remote optional).

This is a high-ownership engineering role for someone who enjoys simplifying complex systems, unifying fragmented data, and building high-scale systems.

The work centers on:

• Unification — bringing dozens to hundreds of fragmented systems under one standard

• On-prem — connecting with older SQL-based, DLL-based, and API-based systems

• Scale & speed — handling millions of API requests per day and building efficient caching layers

• Operational excellence — creating reliable API layers on top of legacy systems

• Mix of back-end and front-end — building products that dog-food Agave’s own APIs

• Variety — researching and launching integrations where every system has its own quirks

The right person is likely a back-end/full-stack engineer with strong ownership, low ego, and excitement for a fast-paced, intense, high-caliber team.

No prior experience with Agave’s tech stack or at a B2B SaaS/API company is required.

Tech stack: TypeScript, React, Redis, Postgres, AWS CDK, EC2

Location: San Francisco / Remote US

Compensation: $130K–$240K base + 0.05%–0.20% equity

Role: Full-Stack Software Engineer (in-person / remote optional)

Visa: Sponsorship available

If you know a strong full-stack or back-end engineer who would be excited by construction tech, financial operations, data infrastructure, and high-ownership engineering,
