Job Title: Tour Guide
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 1 year (possible extension)
Location: Moline, IL 61265
Shift: Monday 1–5 PM, Tuesday–Saturday 9–5 PM (Closed Sunday)
Role Overview
The Tour Guide delivers exceptional experiences to all guests visiting the company’s attractions, including the pavilion, museums, historic sites, and display floors. The work includes guiding tours, presenting educational programs, supporting special events, and representing both the organization and community attractions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide guided tours and information about the company’s history, operations, equipment, and services.
- Deliver public speaking and customer-service support for tours of all levels, including VIP and dignitary groups.
- Greet guests, tour groups, and assist with front-desk tasks.
- Answer the main phone line, manage tour reservations, and orient visitors for self-guided tours.
- Prepare exhibits and facilities for opening and closing.
- Assist with general daily activities as needed.
- Present educational programs for pre-K through high school aligned with state curriculum standards.
- Support special events, including coordination, set-up, and tear-down.
- Act as an ambassador for local community attractions and businesses.
- Participate in ongoing training and development.
Job Duties Summary
- Ensure an exceptional visitor experience across all attraction locations.
- Perform administrative and information desk tasks.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Support events and daily guest operations.
- Maintain availability for a 7-day operational schedule, including holidays (except Sundays).
Required Skills
- Friendly, outgoing personality and comfort interacting with diverse guest groups.
- Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency preferred.
- Museum or visitor-service experience is a plus.
Additional Information
- Fully onsite position.
- Must be available Monday–Saturday.
