Job DescriptionDescription:

The YJOT Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for servicing, delivering, and promoting Yellow Jacket Oil Tools products, including setting tools and plugs, while working closely with Sales and Operations to support customers within the assigned region. The FST possesses in-depth knowledge of all products under their responsibility and serves as the primary frontline support contact for customers in the field.


The FST provides hands-on technical assistance, troubleshooting, and on-site support for setting tools and plugs, ensuring proper delivery, assembly, function testing, and operation at the wellsite. This role includes verifying tool compatibility, correct configuration, and readiness prior to deployment.


The FST is responsible for training customers on the safe and efficient use of setting tools, plugs, and associated equipment, including demonstrating proper assembly, operation, and best practices in the field. The FST educates customers on product features, benefits, limitations, and application-specific procedures to ensure optimal performance.


As an on-call resource, the FST remains available to support customers whenever field assistance is required. The FST understands the fast-paced and demanding nature of the oilfield environment and is capable of discussing all technical, operational, and procedural aspects of Yellow Jacket Oil Tools products to support safe, reliable, and successful field operations.


CRITICAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Must drive the performance and service quality of the Region, servicing clients in the field and at their shops through ongoing support and be a resource for our customers.


2. Must follow work instructions and train customers on procedures for running setting tools and plugs.


3. Must be on-call and ready to move at a moment’s notice, if not personally available must work with Manager to develop a contingency plan.


4. Must notify Field Manager on every service call, and fill out Field Reports when issues arise, listening carefully to customers and investigating the workmanship of the setting tools and plugs to find a root cause for issues.


5. Must travel regularly and safely, usually local/regional via truck: to visit clients, deliver products, do quality inspections, or be anywhere needed to serve the potential client or team.


6. Must be able to obtain a US Passport for travel into Canada and/or other countries and be able to travel out of country on rare occasions.


7. Provide feedback to Operations regarding the needs of the client in the field and help enforce good behavior of the client, so to minimize risk or poor handling or miscommunication.


8. Must be comfortable seeking out and interacting with Decision Makers (Company Men) when necessary. Must be socially aware of surroundings and able to connect with field and office personnel alike.


9. Must be able to read and utilize part drawings and well specs to support conversation about components and specifications.


10. Support YJOT Engineers and Sales during development, prototyping, testing and field trials of new and improved products.


11. Use discretion and seek Marketing approval when posting work-related content onto social media platforms


NON-SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:


1. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.


2. Be prepared to wear PPE when required and travel safely.


3. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


4. Must be willing to meet field location PPE requirements (no facial hair, if required for operator)

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED


2. 2-3+ years’ work experience in a Oilfield support/operations role.


3. Must be able to exhibit good judgement and decision-making skills, while juggling multiple responsibilities at one time.


4. Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, effective communication, and developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


5. Must be able to relate to clients’ shop employees and corporate teams - social versatility.


6. Must have a passion for continual improvement and executing with excellence.


7. Yellow Jacket Oil Tools is a fast-paced environment that can be stressful at times. This position requires the ability to roll up your sleeves and get to it.
