Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of plant equipment and facilities. This individual must be able to follow direction, take initiative, and assist or guide co-workers with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The role requires responding to both emergency and routine production needs while ensuring safety and efficiency at all times.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, demonstrates strong leadership abilities, and practices safe work habits and sound judgment. This position involves hands-on troubleshooting of production equipment, coordinating with outside contractors, and providing support during production demands, including scheduled overtime.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain all plant production equipment, emergency lighting, fire protection systems, and plant facilities.

  • Perform planned preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.

  • Assist production teams during product changeovers.

  • Complete all maintenance work orders and project assignments in a timely manner.

  • Support and coordinate with outside contractors during project work.

  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical training or a minimum of 2 years of related maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across a wide range of production equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Skilled in welding and cutting (TIG, MIG, and ARC), and structural fabrication.

  • Knowledge of electrical and basic electronic components.

  • Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics theory, principles, schematics, and mechanical physics of machines.

  • Capable of machining and fabricating projects from concept drawings to completion.

Safety Knowledge & Training

Must demonstrate knowledge or training in the following areas:

  • Fire prevention and protection.

  • Welding safety.

  • Hazardous material storage and handling.

  • High-pressure steam safety.

  • Confined space entry.

  • Lockout/Tagout procedures.

  • General hazards associated with manufacturing environments.
