Our Aston, PA shop is seeking a first-shift expert who thrives on bringing complex rotating equipment back to life.
A day in the life
Your morning kicks off with work orders, blueprints, and schematics. You plan the teardown of horizontal and vertical pumps, rig them with the overhead crane, and methodically disassemble. With micrometers, calipers, and other M&TE, you inspect each component to exacting tolerances. You’ll diagnose wear patterns, determine corrective actions, source or recommend parts, and prepare for reassembly. By afternoon, you’re rebuilding, aligning, and validating fit and clearances—operating manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools with confidence. Documentation, collaboration, and a quick consult with engineering round out the day.
Impact of the role
- Restore large pumps of all types through precise disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to plan work and set up assembly/disassembly foundations
- Apply mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues and recommend corrective actions
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and shop equipment safely and effectively
- Measure, inspect, and verify against tight standards using micrometers, gauges, and related tooling
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years as a pump mechanic or in a comparable role working with large rotating equipment
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; experience with overhead cranes and forklifts
- Ability to read and apply measurements from inspection tools
- Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, control precision, and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work environment
Industrial shop setting with large machinery, overhead cranes, trucks, and forklifts. You’re comfortable in a traditional warehouse environment.
