About the Role:
The Store Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth, efficient and safe operation of the retail convenience store/gas station environment by providing excellent customer service and maintaining the organization of the store. This position is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, answering inquiries, and ensuring that the store shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing. The Store Clerk will handle transactions accurately and efficiently, contributing to a positive shopping experience that encourages repeat business. Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the store to create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Ultimately, the Store Clerk supports the overall success of the store by combining customer service, inventory management, and operational tasks with professionalism and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs and inquiries promptly.
- Operate the cash register to process sales transactions accurately and handle cash, credit, or other payment methods.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are displayed according to company standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to management for timely replenishment.
- Maintain the store, including aisles, displays, and checkout areas, and outside area, and respond to emergencies as needed
- Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying shipment contents against invoices.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and loss prevention guidelines
