Job DescriptionJob Title: Dual Craft Maintenance TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Dual Craft Maintenance Technician with at least three years of experience to join our team. This role requires the ability to read schematics and blueprints, and involves working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, valves, air compressors, and boilers. Candidates will receive training on ammonia systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.
  • Demonstrate electrical competency for troubleshooting and familiarity with electrical principles and components.
  • Weld and fabricate parts and equipment.
  • Use an electrical meter for testing purposes.
  • Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
  • Understand piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps, motors, valves, etc.
  • Comprehend gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.
  • Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as needed.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts and/or articulating boom lifts.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with all plant departments.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.
  • Mechanical skills including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Repair and preventive maintenance expertise.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Pump and valve repair experience.
  • Conveyor maintenance knowledge.
  • Air compressors and boiler maintenance skills.
  • Welding proficiency.
  • Experience with three-phase systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with diaphragm pumps.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Trade certification or vocational school graduate preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Physical dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks.
  • Troubleshooting skills to identify and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and push, pull, or move heavy machinery and/or drums.
  • Willingness to work up to a 12-hour shift.

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled food manufacturing plant with hot areas in refining rooms and boiler rooms in the North plant. Shifts available include 1st Shift from 6:30am-3:00pm, Day Shift from 6:30am-6:45pm (rotating 12s - 2-2-3 schedule), Night Shift from 6:30pm-6:45am (rotating 12s - 2-2-3 schedule), and 3rd Shift from 10:30pm-7:00am. Technicians will work with a partner on their shift, with a heavy need for the night shift. While this job is performed in a food manufacturing plant, candidates will not be required to be clean-shaven but will need to wear a hair/beard net.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
