Key Responsibilities
· Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on telephony products, specializing in VoIP.
· Handle MACs (Moves, Adds, Changes) on phone systems
· Provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 engineering support, advice, and consultation
· Design, configure, and monitor core LAN/WAN services required for VoIP
· Build and modify call flows to meet business requirements
· Test, troubleshoot, and turn up phone lines, PRI's, T-1's, VoIP Trunks, and integrated circuits
· Run and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) as needed
· Provide both remote and on-site technical support
· Manage service desk tickets and project responsibilities
· Document service and installation actions through forms, reports, and logs
· Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation
Required Qualifications
1. Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing and switching)
2. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
3. Experience with structured cabling installation and termination
4. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
6. Ability to commute to Annapolis, MD 21401, or planning to relocate before starting work
7. Ability to drive to customer sites in and around the Baltimore-Washington area
8. Time will be roughly evenly split between remote and on-site work
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Avaya IP Office Systems
· Experience with Intermedia Elevate/Unite platforms
· Experience with E-Metrotel UCx systems
· Experience resolving complex LAN/WAN issues
· Working knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems
· Understanding of VoIP protocols and networking fundamentals
· 1+ year telecommunication experience
