Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This full-time position offers a consistent weekday schedule from August 21, 2026, through June 14, 2027, set in a welcoming school environment. You’ll play a pivotal role guiding learners, primarily in grades 2 through 6, with a caseload of approximately 20–24 students whose primary disability classifications include Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Speech/Language Impairment (SLI), and Other Health Impairment (OHI).
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or ability to obtain in-state certification)
- Proven experience working with elementary or upper elementary students
- Background in implementing IEPs and delivering specially designed instruction
- Strong knowledge of SLD, SLI, and OHI categories
- Outstanding collaboration, communication, and case management skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills, tailored to each student’s IEP
- Take the lead as case manager, facilitating IEP meetings with LEA support and fostering active family engagement
- Prepare and maintain complete, accurate special education documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to maximize student growth
- Participate actively in grade-level professional learning communities (PLCs) and team planning meetings, mostly scheduled for Tuesdays
