As a contract Special Education Teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated group of middle and high school students who require an adapted curriculum. This position offers a structured, full-time weekday schedule throughout the entire academic year, making a difference in the lives of those with high levels of autism who follow the extended content standards.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Adapted Curriculum teaching license required
- Previous experience working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
- Strong understanding of extended content standards
- Excellence in individualized instruction, lesson development, and behavioral support
- Effective collaboration and communication abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver tailored instruction that meets individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support a caseload of 15–18 middle and high school students
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet diverse student needs
- Track and document student progress, collaborating with staff and families
- Foster student independence, social skills, and academic growth
- Uphold a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Participate in staff meetings, team collaborations, and professional development opportunities
