The Opportunity: From Tech Support to Teacher Residency Mi Escuela Montessori is looking for a Technology Specialist who is passionate about both high-level technical management and the future of Computer Science (CS) education. This role is unique: you will manage our digital infrastructure while being mentored to become our lead Computer Science Teacher.
If you are a tech-savvy paraprofessional who wants to transition into the classroom in the future, we will support you. We are offering a pathway to Florida Teacher Certification while you gain hands-on experience managing a school digital environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Technical Operations & Inventory

Device Management: Act as the administrator for student and staff device onboarding (Laptops, Tablets, and specialized classroom tech).

App Management: Manage the deployment and licensing of student educational apps and software platforms.

Testing Coordinator Support: Prepare, update, and manage the mobile computer labs for Florida State Testing (FAST) and other standardized assessments.

Inventory Control: Maintain a meticulous asset tag system for all school hardware and peripherals.

Security and Restrictions: Monitor student computer use and ensure compliance with the school’s CIPA policy
2. Instructional Support & Computer Science

Classroom Integration: Push into classrooms to support students and guides in utilizing technology as a tool for research and creation (aligned with the Montessori 2nd and 3rd Planes of Development).

CS Curriculum: Assist in facilitating introductory coding, digital citizenship, and computational thinking lessons.

The "Morning Show": Lead and produce the school’s daily "Morning Show," teaching students the basics of digital media production, audio/visual equipment, and broadcasting.
3. Professional Growth (Teacher Residency)

Licensure Pathway: For candidates without a teaching certificate, the school will provide mentorship and guidance to obtain Florida Professional Licensure (Computer Science K–12).

Hybrid Evolution: This role is designed to evolve into a hybrid Tech Coordinator / CS Teacher position as the candidate progresses in their certification.
Qualifications
Required:

Education: Minimum of Associates Degree

Technical Skill: Proficiency in managing G-Suite (Google for Education), MDM software (like Mosyle or Jamf), and basic hardware troubleshooting.

Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to both 7-year-olds and adult staff members.
Preferred:

Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish and English (highly valued in our immersion setting).

Media Experience: Knowledge of video editing or live-stream production (for the Morning Show).

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Education (ideal for the licensure pathway).
Salary & Benefits

Salary: $28,000 – $35,000 (Based on experience and education level).

Growth Incentive: 75% school-subsidized tuition for Montessori training (if applicable) and support for FLDOE State Certification fees.
