What is a In-Training House Supervisor?


The primary purpose of this position is to work alongside the House Supervisor to learn the duties and responsibilities of the role. The In-Training Supervisor will assist with day-to-day operations and provide direct care and support to individuals as needed.

All duties are subject to company policies, procedures, and management directives and may be modified at any time.

What are the responsibilities of a In-Training House Supervisor?

  • Assist in supervising daily site operations to ensure services are delivered in accordance with Synova Group/Genesis Group Homes policies and procedures.
  • Monitor DSP performance in assessment data collection and program implementation.
  • Participate in onboarding and training of new DSPs.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback; contribute input for annual reviews.
  • Track and ensure completion of required compliance training (DHS standards).
  • Assist with staff scheduling and cover open shifts as needed within budget guidelines.
  • Manage EVV data and maintain compliance.
  • Support payroll processes, including timecards, PTO, expense reports, and vehicle documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company employment standards.
  • Assist in monitoring household and program budgets, including petty cash and payroll allocations.
  • Ensure adequate groceries, supplies, and household necessities are maintained.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and home-like environment inside and outside the residence.
  • Complete monthly safety checks and report maintenance needs, including snow and ice removal.
  • Maintain and periodically audit individual and site records to ensure regulatory compliance.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older, with a high school diploma preferred.
  • Have three years of experience delivering services to individuals with disabilities, and six months of supervisory experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, have access to an insured vehicle, have a clean driving record, and need to pass a DHS background study.
  • Exhibit basic computer skills to be successful in this position.

Working Conditions:

The House Supervisor is subject to flexible hours, including split shifts, varied days and times, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnights, depending on coverage needs of the site. This position will be cross trained at other sites and expected to cover shifts as necessary. This position includes weekend on-call rotation with other site(s).

This position will travel regularly into the community and work in a variety of settings both inside and outside the site and throughout the community. The House Supervisor is subject to frequent interruptions, crisis management, and imposed deadlines. This person sits, walks, bends, lifts, reaches, and moves intermittently during working hours.

This person is subject to frequent problem-solving activities and has regular contact with individuals, family members, friends, federal, state or county regulatory personnel, other provider personnel, and the general public, who may be hostile or emotionally upset. The position may be subject to physically aggressive individuals and may be exposed to infectious diseases, odor, and dust.

Paid training is conducted in our Brooklyn Park office and is led by Synova Group employees.   For House Supervisors a company vehicle is provided after 90 days of service. We provide the car and the maintenance! That includes oil changes, car washes, tires, brakes, and anything else the vehicle may need! Employees may choose $6,900 in additional compensation in lieu of the vehicle.
