**Role is in North Dakota**


Steam Fitters install, assemble, maintain, and repair high-pressure and low-pressure piping systems used in heating, cooling, and process systems. They work on systems that carry steam, water, chemicals, and gases in commercial, industrial, and refinery settings. Steam Fitters interpret blueprints and specifications to determine pipe layout and installation methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan pipe system layout, installation, and repair.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand and power tools.
  • Install and maintain piping systems that carry steam, water, compressed air, fuel, and other fluids or gases.
  • Connect pipes using threaded, grooved, welded, or flanged joints.
  • Test completed systems for leaks and proper operation using pressure gauges and hydrostatic testing.
  • Work with valves, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, and other related equipment.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with other trades (e.g., welders, plumbers, HVAC technicians) as needed on job sites.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience as a journeyman steam fitter.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of pipe-fitting tools and welding equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and thermodynamics.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
  • TWIC card required
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
