Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Senior Field Service Engineer to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will perform testing, calibration, certification, and repair services at client locations around the San Fransisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience, including training and mentoring lower-level employees and be a motivated problem solver with strong communication, mechanical, and electrical skills. You’ll be trained in industry and company standards and field practices and will play a key role in client success and operational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Field Work
- Travel to customer sites throughout the Bay Area to perform service work on laboratory environments and equipment.
- Visit the Berkeley office regularly to collect and return tools, instruments, and job-related materials.
- Use Microsoft Office to complete service reports and label equipment appropriately.
- Communicate directly with customers via email and phone to explain service results and resolve issues.
- Provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting and failure analysis.
- Participate in occasional travel for up to one week annually to attend conferences or support remote projects.
- Perform other related field service tasks as required.
Office Duties
- Embrace new company practices and procedures as developed by leadership.
- Assist in organizing the office, moving assets, and improving service workflows.
- Maintain, organize, and re-equip the field service vehicle with necessary tools and instruments.
- Attend regular and as-needed meetings at the Berkeley office.
General Requirements
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and notify the company of any changes.
- Three years of relevant experience, including training and mentoring lower-level employees.
- NSF/ANSI 49 Certification.
- Comply with all required customer and company screenings, including drug tests, background checks, and medical clearances (e.g., respiratory and fitness evaluations for facility access).
- Represent Burke Herring, LLC with professionalism and integrity in all customer interactions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution – Preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of geometry and algebra for precise measurements and calculations.
