CUSTODIAN/MAINTENANCE WORKER
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide quality cleanliness and maintenance of Kinteel Residential Campus, Inc., facilities. To ensure performance of clean designated areas by using a variety of cleaning materials and equipment. Assures that all materials are properly handled and takes care to assure that students are using materials properly and safety guidelines are followed.
QUALIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) or more years of experience of working with high school age
- Must have a Valid Driver's License with current motor vehicle
- Ability to communicate effectively oral, verbal and in Demonstrate effective human relation skills.
- Must be able to follow oral and written
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and push 75
- Must be physically fit and provide an annual physical exam from a licensed
- Ability to pass a five point background
- Must have CPR and First Aide
- Must be willing to work additional of overtime hours on
INDIAN PREFERENCE: Preferential consideration for employment will be given to persons of documented Navajo, American Indian or Alaskan Native Tribal membership who meet the qualifications above, in accordance with the requirements of P.L. 100-297 and the Navajo Nation Tribal Code.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports and efficiently carries out responsibilities in accordance with Kinteel Residential Campus, Inc Policies and Procedures.
- Cleans offices, boys & girls wings, living room, hallways, entrance areas, storage areas, and other assigned areas.
- Empties trash cans and removes trash to designated
- Vacuums and cleans carpets, blinds, and washes
- Performs minor maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and florescent tubes, touch-up painting, removal of graffiti.
- Assures equipment is properly maintained, cleaning and making adjustments and minor repairs as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining janitorial supplies properly, including maintenance of and compliance with material data safety sheets.
- May be required to haul trash, shovel snow, remove ice, mow grass, chop weeds and trim

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Short Term Full Time Employment Contract per 90 day probationary period effective upon employment. Thereafter, a Nine Month-School Year Full Time Employment contract renewable annually by Board of Trustees with recommendation by Home Living Supervisor as per Job Performance Evaluation. Hourly pay rate set on a scale based on qualification, education and experience. Employee works 40 hours per week.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Small, multiple person office at KRCI. Frequent interaction with staff, students, parents, and guests. Moderate incoming telephone calls. Frequent long periods of sitting at computer terminal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform job requirements as listed above. Clean and presentably groom in a manner that you will represent the quality representation of Kinteel Residential Campus, Inc. Appropriate safety attire is recommended for all employees.
