We are a premier architectural lighting design and manufacturing company in northern New Jersey seeking a Lighting Applications Product Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of architectural design, product engineering, and real-world manufacturing.
You will play a key role in supporting sales by translating architectural requirements conveyed in ceiling plans into functional configurations of our products, providing approval and manufacturing drawings, and helping support the manufacturing process to ensure successful production execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract detailed requirements from architectural drawings in support of sales process.
- Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate fixture capabilities that align with project goals
- Design and layout companies commercial lighting fixtures to meet architectural and performance requirements
- Create and/or revise detailed CAD drawing submittals for client approval
- Create drawings and CNC control programs for factory fabrication of lighting fixtures
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure feasibility, efficiency, and quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fabrication and installation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in:

- Lighting industry, OR
- Product design / engineered-to-order manufacturing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
- Strong understanding of:

- LED lighting systems and components
- Electrical fundamentals (drivers, wiring, controls)
- Manufacturing processes (sheet metal, extrusion, assembly)
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)
