Job DescriptionOur busy shop is seeking an experienced lube technician to join our automotive service team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections. This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. Responsibilities:
- Keep detailed records of all repairs made and components replaced
- Offer suggestions to consumers for additional services based on mileage and vehicle history
- Oversee shop inventories by tracking the use of oil and parts and placing new orders for supplies as necessary
- Perform oil changes and fluid checks on customer vehicles, including draining and replacing engine oil, checking and filling transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids
- Lubricate chassis components and check tire pressure and tread depth
- Attend technical training classes with the team monthly
Qualifications:
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to operate vehicle lifts, tools, and other garage equipment safely
- This position requires excellent customer service skills
- Experience working on automobiles or as a lubricant technician of a year or more is preferred
