Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support our facilities and help ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment across all McAlister Institute properties. The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of McAlister Institute facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote the mission, philosophy, values, and direction of McAlister Institute.
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs
- Assist with office space moves (furniture, bulletin boards, dispensers, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues (clogs, leaks, fixture installations)
- Maintain and organize maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
- Keep all facilities clean and organized, including sidewalks and parking lots
- Follow all workplace safety procedures
- Provide detailed documentation and obtain required purchase authorizations
- Maintain professional appearance and positive relationships with staff
- Adhere to all agency policies, code of conduct, and dress code
Shifts Needed:Any shifts during these hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:30AM - 4PM
Monday - Friday: 12PM - 8:30PM
Saturday - Sunday: 7:30AM - 4PM
Saturday - Sunday: 12PM - 8:30PM
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years in construction, generally facility maintenance, and repair
- 10-hour OSHA Safety Training Certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred
- Compliance with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, and reporting.
- Exudes a calm and competent manner, able to converse with medical professionals, lay persons, as well as persons or families and defuse crisis or high intensity situations.
- Proficiency with software and/or equipment for maintenance tracking/ticketing and email communications.
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted California Class B Driver's License, with a good driving record, free of any major infractions, with minimum 3 years' driving experience.
- On-site position.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screening, including references, education verification, a criminal background check with at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug test, and a negative TB test.

Pre-Employment:
All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements including a criminal background investigation, which involves fingerprinting. (A felony or misdemeanor conviction may disqualify the applicant from McAlister Institute employment as we are subject to County of San Diego contractual hiring requirements). A pre-employment physical examination, and post-offer background check is required. Candidates must have at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug test, and a negative TB test.

Placement on the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
