Job Summary: Manage CIED's by performing the following duties: evaluation, programming, and troubleshooting of CIEDs, both in office and hospital as well as via remote monitoring. The Specialist will evaluate CIED's in the office and direct patient clinical concerns to appropriate personnel or department, participate in departmental quality improvement activities, operate various types of equipment including CIED programmers, computer, telephone, copier and fax machine, perform duties as directed by providers and under supervision of practice administrator within departmental standards of care. Specialist will utilize PaceArt and other software platforms as well as websites for report preparation and data management as determined by the department clinical director. Specialist will assist with maintaining PaceArt system or other database/software programs utilized by the device clinic.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 -5 years’ experience in healthcare with emphasis on electrophysiology preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in direct CIED management or successful completion of a formal Cardiac Specialist or Cardiac Rhythm Management course.
  • Current IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) certification preferred.
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department at the discretion of the department clinical director.
  • The specialist must have the ability to interpret EKG’s, current Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, knowledge of cardiac medications, ability to clinically assess a patient, including but not limited to wound checks, vital signs, etc.
