Key Responsibilities for Lead Drafter:

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for steel tank manufacturing using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
  • Create shop drawings, layout plans, fabrication drawings, and assembly diagrams.
  • Maintain and update drawing libraries, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and revision records. (Depending on Abilities)

Engineering & Product Development:

  • Work with engineers and customers to develop custom tank designs that meet specifications.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, material efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, UL, NFPA).

Collaboration & Support:

  • Provide technical support to the shop floor during fabrication and assembly.
  • Work closely with purchasing to ensure accurate part specifications and ordering.
  • Assist sales and project managers in developing quotes, proposals, and customer presentations.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

  • Identify opportunities for design standardization and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, ensuring all revisions are properly recorded.
  • Support quality control and troubleshooting of design-related production issues.
