Position Overview
The Security & Safety Manager maintains and provides security operations for the safety of all employees, guests, production, crew, and performers at all TPAC managed venues daily, and during TPAC events. The manager works closely with the Director of Security & Safety to support event operations, and all TPAC departments with staffing, guidance, and on-site surveillance to monitor security and safety concerns. Through proactive best practices, communication, visible and invisible technology, the manager works to ensure the safety of all who visit TPAC today, and in the future.
Primary Responsibilities
- Contributes to a team-based culture focused on respect, communication, inclusivity, and collaboration.
- Provides leadership of security operation for the security and safety supervisors, staff and their day-to-day functions. This includes daily venue security and safety as well as event security for Andrew Jackson Hall, James K. Polk Theater, and Andrew Johnson Theater.
- Responsible for emergency preparedness and response. Will respond to incidents of medical emergencies, fire alarm activations, and any other security-related incidents.
- Supports the Director with department hiring, staff training, administrative needs, daily shift and event scheduling, and billing for TPAC’s internal security team and contractors.
- Investigates venue security and safety incidents with guests, TPAC departments, contractors and management as needed and concise documentation.
- Serves as the Manager on duty for assigned events and is familiar with TPAC event structure including emergency procedures and standards to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all in attendance.

Skills and Knowledge
Required: 3-5 years of security and crowd management experience, including managerial experience. Comfortable workingwith individual situations. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays. TN unarmed security license.
Highly Desired: Previous theater or similar venue, event, and peer security experience. Familiar with shift coverage, scheduling and “on the job” training, knowledge of CCTV and Access Control programs. CPR/First Aid certified.

Frequent Functions and Working Conditions
Frequent Functions:
Working in an office/venue/theater environment and virtually as needed. Ascending/descending stairs, standing/being stationary for long periods of time. Working in the dark. Working with flashlights and in a loud environment.
Occasional Functions:
Lifting, moves, transports 50 lbs. Pushing, pulling, bending/stooping. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonably hot or cold temperatures.
