Experience a rewarding contract opportunity supporting exceptional students as a Special Education Teacher working with middle and high schoolers who have high-level autism and follow the extended content standard. This position begins August 13, 2026, and continues through June 3, 2027, providing a steady and fulfilling school year ahead. The weekday schedule runs from 8:00am to 3:30pm, allowing for up to 40 hours per week—perfect for professionals who appreciate balanced routines and ample time for personal interests after the workday.
You’ll work closely with a caseload of approximately 15-18 students, collaborating with a supportive team to foster achievement and growth in a dynamic educational environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, valid Adapted Curriculum license required
- Previous experience with middle and/or high school students preferred
- Strong background in working with students on the autism spectrum, especially those engaging with extended content standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for individualized instruction and inclusive teaching practices
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement adapted curriculum lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of each student
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for effective learning
- Collaborate with staff, families, and support personnel to coordinate students’ educational programs
- Maintain all documentation and compliance required for special education services
