South Main Trucking Co. currently has an opening at our Greensburg branch for a Diesel Mechanic. Daylight M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm and Afternoon M-F 12:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing and repairing vehicles
- Troubleshooting potential mechanical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform repair and replacement work, including but not limited to oil, tires, brakes, lamps, and various other parts
- Travel to other branches to make repairs
Requirements:
- Have own tools
- At least 21 years old (insurance purposes)
- Pass the DOT Physical
- Clean driving record
- Diesel experience
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willing to learn and expand skill set
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Work overtime as required
- Meet DOT regulatory requirements for operating company or related vehicles
- Familiar with all DOT regulations and truck operations
- Sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and company requirements
Preferred:
- Class 7 Inspection License
- Class B Drivers License
- Forklift mechanical knowledge
- Electrical knowledge
- Basic computer skills
Must submit a background check and drug testing.
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
