Job DescriptionFuze HR Solutions is proud to partner with a leading technology and electrical services provider that is expanding its team of traveling technicians across Minnesota and surrounding states.
We are seeking experienced Fire Alarm and Security Technicians with a strong background in commercial installations, service, and troubleshooting. If you enjoy travel, hands-on work, and working on large-scale projects, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Responsibilities
As a Travel Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm and low-voltage systems
  • Running low-voltage cabling in commercial environments, including drilling through concrete walls and performing limited conduit work
  • Installing cable support structures such as J-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct
  • Testing newly installed systems and devices to ensure proper functionality
  • Diagnosing and repairing issues with cable infrastructure and fire alarm panels
  • Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with NFPA 70, NFPA 72, OSHA, and customer safety standards
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, site maps, and project documentation
  • Collaborating with project teams during planning, installation, and completion phases
  • Maintaining accurate service records and installation documentation


Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Technician, Security Technician, or Low Voltage Technician in commercial environments
  • Experience with fire alarm and/or intrusion systems installation and service
  • Current state-required Life Safety and/or Physical Security license, where applicable
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 standards
  • Ability to read blueprints and site layouts
  • Comfortable working at heights ranging from 20–60 feet using boom lifts or scissor lifts
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and active construction environments
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and smartphone applications
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI within the past 3 years)
  • Ability to travel extensively for projects lasting 2–6 weeks at a time, including occasional night and on-call shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level II certification
  • Experience with conduit installation and structured cabling infrastructure
  • Experience working with multiple fire alarm and intrusion system manufacturers
  • Ownership of basic PPE and reliable transportation during the initial training period

Pay rate: $25-35/hr depending on experience
