About the Role
As a Site Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and executing company safety initiatives to foster a safe, healthy, and incident-free jobsite. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes a proactive safety culture, and supports continuous improvement through hands-on oversight, training, and collaboration with project teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply safety policies in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations to promote a safe project environment
- Support training of field employees on safe work practices, proper equipment use, and material handling procedures
- Conduct and document weekly safety requirements, including crew safety meetings, site safety walks, and applicable trainings
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new Collective Bargaining project site employees
- Collect and analyze internal data related to accidents and hazards to identify trends and inform safety strategies
- Assist with facility inspections to identify existing or potential hazards; recommend corrective or preventative actions and follow up to ensure implementation
- Distribute signage, posters, barriers, and other safety materials to warn of potential hazards and prevent unsafe conditions
- Support accident and injury investigations in collaboration with internal teams, general contractors, and owners
- Compile and submit required accident reports to internal stakeholders and general contractors in a timely manner
- Contribute to the development of project-specific safety training materials and resources
- Assist in organizing and maintaining comprehensive safety files and documentation

We are looking for someone with the following competencies:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and manuals
- Skilled in writing routine reports and professional correspondence
- Comfortable speaking before groups of employees or customers in a clear and effective manner
- Strong grasp of basic mathematics, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs
- Adept at solving practical problems and interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet, and email software, with working knowledge of internet tools
- Certifications required: OSHA 30-hour for Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/elevated areas, outdoor weather, and potential electrical hazards
- Work environment noise level is generally moderate but may vary based on site conditions
- Frequently required to lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 35 lbs
- Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Regular physical activities include walking, standing, sitting, handling materials, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking, and hearing
- Must be able to safely access construction areas via ladders and stairs
