A national law firm is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join their team on a long-term contract basis in their Boston, Massachusetts office. In this role, you will provide crucial administrative and legal support to ensure the efficient operation of our legal department. Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and edit legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage electronic court filings and ensure compliance with all filing requirements.
• Coordinate and maintain schedules, including appointments, court dates, and deadlines.
• Handle calendar management to support attorneys and legal team members.
• Communicate effectively with clients and external parties, including those who speak Spanish.
• Organize and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accessibility and security.
• Conduct basic research and gather information to support legal cases.
• Provide administrative support such as handling correspondence, phone calls, and scheduling.
• Translate documents and conversations from Spanish to English, as needed.
• Assist in tracking and managing deadlines to ensure timely completion of legal tasks.
• Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal support role.
• Proficiency in e-Filing and court filing procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with experience in calendar management.
• Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documents.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
• Proficient in using office software and legal research tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
