This role is highly specialized, requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and movable equipment. The individual in this position will be equipped to address repair challenges independently with minimal oversight. Supporting large hospital campuses, the Maintenance Mechanic III is essential for the operation, maintenance, and repair of various electrical and plumbing systems, as well as movable equipment. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are vital. The primary goal of this role is to ensure a safe working environment and contribute to an outstanding Environment of Care.
Position Details:
- Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: No specific educational requirements
- Licensure: A valid driver's license is necessary
- Experience: At least 4 years of commercial experience with equipment such as electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatic tube systems, beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers
- Certification/Registration: Not specified
- Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and adherence to instructions
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
- Numerical skills for calculations related to testing, installation, measurement, estimation, and equipment repair
- Capability to prioritize tasks and conceptualize the final product
- Form perception necessary for measuring and installing parts and equipment
- Spatial awareness to interpret blueprints or specifications
- Proficiency in various computer software, including Outlook, TMS, and/or Nuvolo
- Efficient time and material management to complete tasks with high quality and minimal cost
- Exceptional customer service skills to meet departmental objectives
- General manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, electric shock, and loud noises
- Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 years of training in a Technical or Vocational School is a plus
- Licensure: Electrical and/or Plumbing certifications preferred
- Experience: 5 or more years in a facility maintenance role within a healthcare setting
- Certification/Registration: ASSE 6040 training for medical gas maintenance is advantageous
