Senior Litigation Paralegal (Class Action Team)
Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (“WTO”) was established in 1998 and currently numbers more than 100 lawyers. Summary/Objective
This litigation position will join a team specializing in class action lawsuits, with an emphasis on proactive case management. The ideal candidate excels in fast-paced settings, possessing a blend of technical expertise and strong litigation experience. The candidate should also have a solid background in organizing documents, managing discovery, working in document databases, preparing and attending trials, docketing, and Bluebook cite checking.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary case manager, overseeing all stages of litigation from intake through trial and resolution, ensuring matters are organized, compliant, and trial‑ready.
- Maintain well‑organized electronic case files and manage large‑scale document productions throughout the lifecycle of a matter, utilizing Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms.
- Calculate, docket, and monitor deadlines by researching and applying court rules across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accurate calendaring and compliance.
- Adhere to established firm systems, workflows, and iManage naming conventions.
- Prepare and review legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents to ensure accuracy, compliance with court rules and formatting requirements, and precise Bluebook citations prior to filing.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, trial presentations, and onsite trial support.
- Finalize briefs by performing comprehensive legal and factual cite‑checking, proofreading, compiling exhibits, and confirming adherence to applicable citation and filing requirements.
- Assist with appellate filings when required, including supporting record preparation and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys to support litigation strategy in class action and other complex litigation matters, exercising strong analytical judgment and clear communication.
- Monitor the procedural posture of class actions to anticipate certification, discovery, and trial‑phase requirements and proactively surface issues to the legal team.
- Maintain oversight of complex discovery workflows, including phased productions, privilege review coordination, and compliance with court‑ordered discovery protocols.
- Develop and maintain case‑specific workflows and checklists to support efficiency, consistency, and defensibility in high‑volume, multi‑party matters.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is required or a combination of education, certifications, and demonstrable work experience.
- 6+ years of litigation and trial experience, class action experience is required.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, including Westlaw.
- Expertise in locating and interpreting court rules to guide the team on filing and a true love and reliance on Blue Book for cite-checking briefs.
- Experience with iManage or a similar document management tool, as well as Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including lunch hour. This is a full-time position with regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a lunch hour. Overtime is paid at one and one-half times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a Sunday through Saturday workweek.
Employees based in the Denver area are expected to work in a hybrid arrangement, requiring three days per week in the Denver office with the option to work two days from home.
For approved out-of-state employees, the position may be performed in a fully remote capacity, subject to role eligibility and business needs.
Travel
Travel will be required for trials both within Colorado and out of state. It is expected that the team might handle 2-3 trials per year.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 annually. The final salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Additionally, the firm provides standard benefits including health insurance, 401(k) contribution, and paid time off, with annual bonus potential based on firm performance.
