Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Engineer to support body weld quality confirmation activities for new model launch. This role focuses heavily on dimensional validation, tooling confirmation, and metrology support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Check and confirm body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality targets and KPIs for new model launch
- Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm new tooling/equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at various tool/equipment vendors
- Support weld and tool quality confirmation activities at NAMCs from installation through SOP
- Create detailed Quality Seibi daily plans, Project Task Reports, and Problem Follow Sheets
- Track activity status and coordinate safety communications (JSA, corrective measures, and safety audits)
- Support daily and weekly verbal and written communication with the Quality Seibi Project Leader, BAC, and Seibi Management
- Communicate dimensional findings and issues requiring resolution to internal teams and outside groups
- Gather and manage part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings
- Analyze part and sub-assembly dimensional data and provide feedback to Project Leadership
- Perform equipment, tooling, and part confirmation using FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, check fixtures, weld tooling measurements, and part fitting activities
Requirements
Must Have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a very hands-on approach
- Experience making adjustments and changes to weld equipment
- Proficiency using various hand tools
- Metrology background with dimensional review experience
- Industry experience in Automotive, Aerospace, or Military Defense
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with POLYWORKS
- If no direct FARO Arm experience, familiarity with Hexagon, Delmia, CMM, or Creaform is acceptable
