Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Compensation: $22-25 per hour (based on experience, with potential for higher pay if needed). Additionally, a monthly bonus is regularly achieved.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Goldsmith to join our team in Peoria, IL. Your primary responsibilities will include refurbishing rings, retipping, ring sizing, soldering, and other basic jewelry repairs. You’ll work alongside skilled craftspeople in a supportive, team-first environment that values precision, integrity, and pride in the craft.
Day in the Life
You will spend most of your time on repair-focused bench work, including:
- Ring sizing and reshanking
- Soldering and laser-related repair support (as applicable)
- Stone setting (prong, channel, tip work)
- Repair and refurbishment of estate and everyday jewelry
- Quality checks to ensure pieces leave the bench in excellent condition
Custom work will be occasional, with the majority of volume coming from repairs.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of bench jeweler/goldsmith experience in repair and restoration
- Proficiency in core repair techniques (sizing, soldering, prong/channels, shank/tip work)
- Strong attention to detail and quality-first mindset
- Ability to manage workload and meet agreed-upon turn times
- Comfortable with a bench test as part of the hiring process
