Hunt Electric, Inc.is seeking an Electrical Preconstruction Detailer to join our Preconstruction Team. TheElectrical Preconstruction Detailer needs to be sharp, driven, and constructability minded. This full-time role is for someone who understands that great projects are built before the boots hit the ground.
The Electrical Preconstruction Detailer will be at the center of planning, design, and prefabrication coordination while translating virtual documentation into real-world constructable precise plans and documents using tools like Bluebeam, Excel and 3D modeling programs. You'll work with foremen, engineers, project managers, and BIM/VDC specialists to deliver electrical designs that are not only compliant, butbuildable.
Major Duties:
- Study previous projects and detailing standards to align with and develop proven workflows.
- Build, edit, and maintain preconstruction electrical drawings models using Bluebeam, and other platforms.
- Generate accurate takeoffs, product counts, and support estimating efforts.
- Assemble and manage electrical schedules, worksheets, and documentation with high accuracy.
- Serve as a liaison between field, engineering, management, and technical project teams.
- Track progress, timelines, and team deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (MEP trades, BIM techs, PMs, foremen, and engineers).
- Support submittal and RFI efforts by preparing, reviewing, and managing design-related content.
- Facilitate meetings and manage preconstruction detailing inputs and outputs.
- Think creatively to solve layout challenges, maintain constructability, and streamline workflow.
- Help establish and maintain standardization across projects and teams.
- Possess a well-rounded work style with the ability to self-motivated and self-manage but also work well within a team setting.
- Creative and out of the box thinking with attention to detail.
- Experience in electrical detailing/design including electrical code, contract compliance, submittal review, and specification interpretation.
- Ability to fully deploy with the capabilities of displaying innovative approaches and expertise.
- Ability to think digitally and practically from the field and tech platform experience.
- Experience on real world projects, understanding installation logic, and virtual design.
- Time management skills to create and manage to meet project milestones.
- Other duties or locations as assigned by manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in electrical detailing/design, preferably withing BIM or VDC environments or as a superintendent or electrical projects.
- Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word experience is a must.
- Experience in Autodesk, ACAD, Revit, Navis, etc. with drafting/design
- Experience with electrical construction estimating or project management is a plus.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm
