Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, taking messages as needed
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service
- Maintain and update accurate patient records and demographic information
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate wait times to clinical staff
- Handle medical records requests, referrals, and prior authorizations
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare front office setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, EMR/EHR systems, and insurance verification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and scheduling software
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office certification a plus
- HIPAA knowledge and commitment to patient confidentiality
