A leading local bakery manufacturer is seeking a driven QA Assistant to join their exceptional team and support their commitment to top‐tier quality and production excellence.
- Perform "Pre-Op" inspections of production lines to ensure equipment is clean, GMP-compliant, and ready for use.
- Collect and log data regarding product weights, temperatures, and dimensions to ensure every batch meets our "Gold Standard."
- Support routine lab tests, including microbiological swabbing (ATP/Allergen), and sensory evaluations (taste/look/smell).
- Review production paperwork for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all records are filed for audit readiness.
- Check incoming ingredients against specifications and assist in managing the "Hold" process for any materials that don't meet standards.
- Utilize Label View software to print and verify product labels for accuracy.
- Assist the team in preparing for annual food safety audits (GFSI/FSSC 22000).
- Support FSQA identify quality issues on the floor and assist the supervisor as needed.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Qualifications (Entry-Level)
- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus.
- Skills: Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel) and the ability to learn technical equipment like moisture analyzers and ATP meters.
- Mindset: A high level of integrity and "attention to detail" you are the eyes and ears of food safety
- Communication: Comfortable speaking with team members on the production floor to explain quality standards.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Work in Manufacturing environment – hot and cold temperatures, loud noises
- Ability to work 8-10 hours a day, the hours between 10 pm and 6 am or 11 pm to 7 am
