Camp Halfmoon in Goffstown, NH is hiring Junior Counselors and Counselors for the summer 2025 season! For over five decades, Camp Halfmoon has been a traditional outdoor day camp offering exciting, enriching experiences for youth ages 6–15. Our goal is to help campers try new activities, form meaningful friendships, and create lasting memories — all while keeping them safe, being a positive role model, and having a blast!

Job Overview:
Camp Counselors are assigned to a group of same-age campers based on their interests and camp needs. Working alongside fellow counselors, you’ll help manage the group, lead and participate in activities, and foster connections with both campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for campers
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with parents
- Lead or assist with daily camp activities such as games, crafts, and STEM projects
- Stay actively engaged in all aspects of camp life, regardless of weather or location (indoors, outdoors, pools, etc.)
- Promote character development through positive interactions
- Demonstrate and model YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Courage
Qualifications:
- Experience with youth in a camp, school, or recreation setting is preferred
- Willingness to obtain (or current possession of) CPR and First Aid certifications
- Ability to attend pre-season and in-season staff training
- Must bring a positive, flexible, patient, and team-oriented attitude
Position Details:
Camp runs from June 23 to August 22, 2025 — candidates must be available for most camp weeks.
