A well-established Personal Injury law firm located in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 3 years of experience handling New York workers’ compensation cases. This role involves managing cases from intake through resolution while providing expert representation and legal counsel to clients in a fully in-office environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of New York workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Board
- Develop case strategy, including evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and preparing for litigation
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, and insurance carriers
- Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements
- Stay current on New York workers’ compensation laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active New York bar admission
- Minimum of 3 years of New York workers’ compensation experience (plaintiff-side preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NY Workers’ Compensation Board procedures
- Excellent negotiation, litigation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
