Position Overview
\n
Medley is seeking a motivated, dependable, and service-oriented Building Engineer to join our property operations team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building operations, facilities management, and engineering who wants to develop their skills in a dynamic mixed-use environment.

Working closely with Medley’s Chief Engineer and property management team, the Building Engineer will assist with the daily operation, maintenance, repair, event support, and overall care of the property. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and understands that exceptional property operations are an important part of the Medley guest and tenant experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of Medley’s buildings, common areas, parking facilities, and property infrastructure.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, mechanical, and other building systems under the direction of the Chief Engineer.
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant, resident, guest, and property management maintenance requests.
- Complete basic repairs including lighting replacement, plumbing repairs, minor carpentry, painting, hardware adjustments, and general maintenance.
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, or operational concerns.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and building-system issues.
- Support vendors and contractors performing work throughout the property.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of Medley events, activations, meetings, and community programming.
- Set up, move, and break down tables, chairs, barricades, signage, tents, staging, event equipment, and other materials as needed.
- Work closely with the Medley events, marketing, concierge, and property management teams to ensure event spaces are properly prepared and returned to normal operating condition following events.
- Provide on-site operational support during events as needed, including responding to maintenance, power, lighting, cleanliness, and other facility-related needs.
- Assist with seasonal installations, decorations, property activations, and other operational needs throughout Medley.
- Maintain engineering shops, equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Follow all established safety procedures and immediately report potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with emergency response situations and property-related incidents as needed.
- Help ensure Medley consistently presents a clean, safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or property management team.

Qualifications
\n

- High school diploma or GED required.
- No previous commercial building engineering experience required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Previous experience in maintenance, construction, mechanical work, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, event operations, or a related trade is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn building systems.
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high-quality property.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented attitude.
- Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements
\n

- Ability to regularly walk throughout a large mixed-use property.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move approximately 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist with moving tables, chairs, event equipment, signage, and other materials.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in mechanical and equipment areas.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical maintenance and event setup activities.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule
\n
This is a full-time position. Because Medley is an active mixed-use destination with a robust calendar of events and community programming, the position will require flexibility, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional early mornings for event setup, breakdown, property needs, and emergencies.
