Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation/IP Legal Assistant to support their legal team in managing complex litigation cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, drafting, and administrative skills, with experience across various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment, providing essential administrative and legal support to attorneys engaged in litigation and related legal matters.


Duties

  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools
  • Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence
  • Manage and organize case files using document management systems and case management software like PCLaw and iManage
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct document review and assist with discovery processes in litigation cases
  • Transcribe dictations and prepare reports or summaries as needed
  • Maintain accurate data entry and filing systems for all case-related materials
  • Support project management tasks related to ongoing litigation cases
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and other stakeholders via phone etiquette and professional correspondence
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling, filing, and managing deadlines to ensure smooth workflow within the law office


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in legal administrative support within a law office setting
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures across various practice areas such as personal injury law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, securities law, UCC law, estate planning, environmental law, family law, and more
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis
  • Experience with case management software such as PCLaw and document management systems like iManage
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Strong proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy of all materials
  • Effective transcription skills for converting audio recordings into written documents
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Ability to perform data entry accurately and maintain meticulous filing systems
  • Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional communication skills
  • Project management capabilities to coordinate tasks across different cases or practice areas
  • Paralegal experience is highly desirable; familiarity with a broad range of legal practice areas enhances effectiveness in this role
