The DMV Family Law Practice Group is looking for a Law Clerk to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct legal research.
  • Draft legal documentation.
  • Assist in preparation of trail binders.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be in either their 2nd or 3rd year of law school and have the desire to practice family law with some relevant classroom or clinic experience.
  • Ability to periodically join attorneys in court in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Fluency in languages other than English preferred.
  • Experience in International Law and/or Criminal Law preferred; desire to litigate preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment.

This is a hybrid position, the selected candidate will start in January at the beginning of Spring semester 2026. This position does require travel.

The range for this position is $23-$25 an hour and represents C&W’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
