We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding the organization's systems by managing cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Responsibilities:
• Oversee cybersecurity systems, including vulnerability management, password security, and monitoring to ensure protection against threats.
• Conduct regular security incident investigations and report metrics to leadership.
• Develop and implement automation scripts to enhance security monitoring and response.
• Coordinate and lead penetration testing initiatives, validating results and ensuring remediation.
• Plan and execute comprehensive cybersecurity training programs for staff.
• Manage incident response processes, ensuring alignment with established security frameworks.
• Administer security systems and tools, including SIEM and firewall technologies.
• Provide Help Desk support for end users, addressing technical issues and security concerns.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively mitigate risks.
• Proficiency in vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.io and Sumo Logic.
• Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies and the ability to interpret results.
• Experience with system administration and configuration management.
• Solid knowledge of firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA and Checkpoint.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and cloud security platforms like AWS.
• Exceptional communication skills to provide effective end-user support.
• Demonstrated ability to handle incident response and adhere to cybersecurity frameworks.
• Expertise in auditing, security analysis, and proactive threat mitigation.
