Overview
Our healthcare client is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support and enhance a modern, cloud-first IT environment. This individual will play a key role in managing Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, endpoint compliance, security initiatives, and platform governance
The ideal candidate brings strong experience administering enterprise Microsoft environments, driving security and compliance improvements, and partnering with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing technology ecosystem
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 technologies including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Defender, and Purview
- Manage identity and access controls, Conditional Access policies, privileged access management, and tenant-wide governance standards
- Lead endpoint management initiatives, device compliance policies, and configuration standards across the organizations
- Drive security and compliance efforts by improving Microsoft Secure Score, supporting risk remediation activities, and maintaining alignment with healthcare regulatory requirements
- Oversee the lifecycle of security and compliance policies, including data loss prevention (DLP), retention policies, eDiscovery, information protection labels, and related controls
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, and Microsoft 365 issues
- Partner with Security, Compliance, IT leadership, managed service providers, and support teams to implement platform enhancements and resolve operational challenges
- Facilitate change management processes, including change reviews, testing strategies, deployment planning, rollback procedures, and documentation updates
- Maintain architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and audit-related documentation
- Monitor operational and security metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to increase platform reliability, performance, and security
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives through PowerShell scripting and platform integration
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 and/or cloud-based infrastructure environments
- Strong expertise with Microsoft 365 administration, identity management, and cloud security
- Experience managing enterprise security controls, compliance initiatives, and governance standar
- ds.Knowledge of endpoint management and device compliance solutions
- Experience leading or coordinating change management and platform improvement initiatives
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Microsoft certifications such as Enterprise Administrator Expert, Security Administrator, MD-102, or similar
- Security+ certification
- Healthcare IT experience
- Experience supporting HIPAA-regulated environment
- PowerShell automation and API integration experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Secure Score, CIS benchmarks, and security assessment frameworks
