Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day maintenance and operational readiness across multiple warehouse locations. This role is highly hands-on and requires a versatile technician who can manage preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a wide range of facility systems.

You will work closely with operations and facilities leadership to ensure equipment, building systems, and warehouse infrastructure remain safe, functional, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building systems
• Maintain and repair warehouse equipment including dock doors, racking, conveyors, and material handling systems
• Support refrigeration and freezer/cooler systems, including monitoring temperature controls and performing basic repairs
• Respond to maintenance work orders and troubleshoot facility issues in a timely manner
• Conduct routine inspections of safety systems including emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and safety equipment
• Partner with external vendors for specialized repairs and compliance-related maintenance
• Support preventive maintenance schedules and document work performed in tracking systems or CMMS tools
• Assist with minor construction, repairs, installations, and warehouse setup projects
• Support operational continuity during maintenance activities and special events
• Travel to a secondary facility in Northern Virginia approximately once per week

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of facility maintenance experience in a warehouse, industrial, food service, or similar environment
• Hands-on experience with at least one core trade: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems
• Experience maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dock systems, conveyors preferred)
• Basic refrigeration or cold storage equipment experience strongly preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs independently
• Familiarity with work order systems, CMMS platforms, or similar tracking tools
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, or basic blueprints
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and reliability in a fast-paced environment

• Fully onsite role supporting multiple warehouse locations
• Must be comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments
• Role includes occasional weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities
• Exposure to warehouse operations and industrial equipment is required
• Must be able to travel between DC and Northern Virginia sites weekly
