Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day maintenance and operational readiness across multiple warehouse locations. This role is highly hands-on and requires a versatile technician who can manage preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a wide range of facility systems.
You will work closely with operations and facilities leadership to ensure equipment, building systems, and warehouse infrastructure remain safe, functional, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building systems
- Maintain and repair warehouse equipment including dock doors, racking, conveyors, and material handling systems
- Support refrigeration and freezer/cooler systems, including monitoring temperature controls and performing basic repairs
- Respond to maintenance work orders and troubleshoot facility issues in a timely manner
- Conduct routine inspections of safety systems including emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and safety equipment
- Partner with external vendors for specialized repairs and compliance-related maintenance
- Support preventive maintenance schedules and document work performed in tracking systems or CMMS tools
- Assist with minor construction, repairs, installations, and warehouse setup projects
- Support operational continuity during maintenance activities and special events
- Travel to a secondary facility in Northern Virginia approximately once per week
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of facility maintenance experience in a warehouse, industrial, food service, or similar environment
- Hands-on experience with at least one core trade: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems
- Experience maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dock systems, conveyors preferred)
- Basic refrigeration or cold storage equipment experience strongly preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs independently
- Familiarity with work order systems, CMMS platforms, or similar tracking tools
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, or basic blueprints
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and reliability in a fast-paced environment

- Fully onsite role supporting multiple warehouse locations
- Must be comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments
- Role includes occasional weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities
- Exposure to warehouse operations and industrial equipment is required
- Must be able to travel between DC and Northern Virginia sites weekly
