This role demands a high level of expertise in electricity, plumbing, and movable equipment. The individual in this position will possess the skills necessary to independently address repair challenges with minimal supervision. This role is essential for supporting extensive hospital facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for the operation, upkeep, and repair of various electrical and plumbing systems, as well as movable equipment. Exceptional customer service and communication abilities are crucial for success in this position. The primary goal is to maintain a safe work environment and contribute to an outstanding Environment of Care.

Position Overview:

  • Minimum Required Qualifications
    • Education: No specific educational requirements
    • Licensure: A valid driver's license is mandatory
    • Experience: At least 4 years of commercial experience with equipment such as electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatic tube systems, beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers
    • Certification/Registration: Not specified
  • Other Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and adherence to instructions
    • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
    • Numerical skills for calculations related to testing, installation, measurement, estimation, and equipment repair
    • Capability to prioritize tasks and visualize the end product
    • Form perception necessary for measuring and installing parts and equipment
    • Spatial awareness to interpret blueprints and specifications
    • Familiarity with various software applications, including Outlook, TMS, and/or Nuvolo
    • Efficient time and material management to complete tasks with high quality and cost-effectiveness
    • Exceptional customer service skills aimed at achieving departmental objectives
    • General manual dexterity, basic math skills, and mechanical aptitude are required
    • Exposure to extreme temperatures, electric shock, and loud noises may occur
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; 2 years of training in a Technical or Vocational School is advantageous
    • Licensure: Electrical and/or Plumbing certification is preferred
    • Experience: 5 or more years in facility maintenance within a healthcare setting
    • Certification/Registration: ASSE 6040 training for medical gas maintenance is preferred
