The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep and functionality of company facilities. This role performs a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to address both routine maintenance and unexpected issues with minimal disruption to daily operations.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
To ensure a safe, fully functional, and well-maintained facility by performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, while supporting overall workplace safety and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance and light repairs on facilities, fixtures, furniture, and equipment, including replacing light bulbs, tightening hardware, patching minor drywall damage, and addressing leaky pipes or fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs involving plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or coordinate with licensed vendors as needed.
- Monitor building systems and report any major maintenance or safety issues.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance; assist with company emergency preparedness and facility safety plans.
- Provide support for company events and meetings, including setup, cleanup, and equipment adjustments.
- Assist with general labor needs to support facility operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in accordance with facility safety guidelines.
- Oversee company van maintenance, such as fueling, car washing, and routine service appointments.
- Assist departments with facility-related needs or special projects, as assigned.
- Assist with special projects as requested by direct supervisors.
- Must adhere to Quality Management System and security operating procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of maintenance or facilities experience.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills, building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, safety procedures, and general repair techniques.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, climbing, and bending for extended periods.
