Systems Administrator
Exempt
Reports To: Systems Engineer Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains computersystemsincluding servers, virtualserversand other physical hardware/appliances. Performssystemmaintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixesand security configurations.
- Monitors system performance,troubleshootsissuesand deploys solutions. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications and equipment. Maintain ourdisasterrecovery, andbackup and restore plan.
- Installsandconfiguresserverequipment.
- Provide assistance in the maintenance of our security administration.
- Provide assistance in the maintenance of our Network Infrastructure.
- Maximizes performance bymonitoring andtroubleshootingserver problems,outagesand scheduling upgrades.
- Troubleshoot, resolveandcommunicatesserverissues to other employees and management.
- Maintain both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Implementsdisaster recovery procedures.
- Maintaincurrent knowledge and understanding ofsystem administrationbest practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Strong Understanding ofVMware technologies (e.g.vCenter,vMotion, snapshots)
- Understandingnetworking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring andserver logging
- Experience with server administration (e.g., Windows Servers 2008R2 thru 2016)and active directory management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- ABachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relatedqualification.
- 2 years' experience inserver administration
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the server environments, installs, configures, and maintains system software. The role includes network and security administration tasks and may assist with evaluating new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and making fine discriminations in sound. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.
