We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Child Care Worker to join our team. This full-time role supports our child watch and youth programs, providing a safe, engaging environment for children while their parents utilize our facility. The position includes seasonal responsibilities aligned with the school year and summer programming.
School Year Responsibilities (September–May)
- Child Watch Supervision: Oversee the child watch room 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday-Thursday, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years while parents are in the building.
- Schedule paid and volunteer ChildWatch assistants
- Provide on-the-job training to assistants and give feedback on their performance to the Youth Development Director
- Staff Support: Assist Early Learning preschool staff by covering breaks 15 minute and lunch, maintaining continuity of care and supervision in classrooms.
- Afterschool Program: Supervise school-age children during bus transportation to the facility and support their transition into afterschool activities.
Summer Responsibilities (May–August)
- Child Watch Supervision: Continue oversight of the child watch room during morning and afternoon hours.
- Summer Camp Support: Assist with the summer camp program by supervising activities, engaging with children, and ensuring a fun, safe experience for all participants.
Key Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a structured setting (childcare, education, camp, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple age groups with patience and enthusiasm
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (training will be provided)
- Must pass background checks and meet State childcare provider licensing requirements
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
8:15 AM - 7:15 PM Monday-Thursday with a one-hour lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks.
