Job Description

Join a distinguished manufacturing company based in Princeton, Indiana, renowned for supplying critical gears and related components to industries such as steel, bridge, aluminum, aggregate, and mining. As a Machinist, you will play a vital role in programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual machine tools to produce high-quality parts within specified timelines, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including brands such as Schiess and Hankook, to complete parts.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications, and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Perform programming on machine tools by entering instructions, setting tools, calculating requirements, and proving part programs.
  • Maintain specifications and quality requirements during machining processes such as drilling, grooving, cutting, and thread chasing.
  • Troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of machine tools, work area, tooling, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate irregularities and recommendations among work shifts through prescribed methods.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of machining, CNC, lathe, mill, gears, and grinding.
  • Proficiency in programming machine tools and basic understanding of CAM systems.
  • Ability to maintain specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Experience with interpreting blueprints and engineering plans.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • College Level Certificate in CNC Machining and significant related CNC machine work experience.
  • Preferred experience in horizontal or vertical boring mill.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in CNC or Precision Machining.
  • Willingness to learn and train for up to 2 years due to niche machining and various machines operated, including German brands.

Work Environment

Work in a large machine shop environment where steel-toed boots are required. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable attire, although uniform services are available for purchase. This role involves physical activity including regular walking, standing, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. The position requires specific vision abilities and onsite presence during working hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $62400.00/yr.
