Employment Litigation Associate (Hybrid – Orange County, CA)
A national labor & employment defense and business litigation firm with offices across the U.S. is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its Orange County, CA office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This role will focus on defending employment litigation matters including single-plaintiff cases, wage & hour disputes, class actions, and PAGA claims.
🔹 Experience Level
- 2+ years of employment litigation experience preferred
- Strong exposure to:
- Wage & hour litigation
- Class actions
- PAGA matters
- General employment litigation
- Open to candidates specializing in either class/PAGA or single-plaintiff work
- Plaintiff-side experience welcome
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Defend single-plaintiff employment cases
- Handle wage & hour class action and PAGA litigation
- Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys
- Appear at hearings, mediations, depositions, and proceedings
- Manage case deadlines and client communications
🔹 Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active California Bar admission
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
- Detail-oriented and client-focused
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $170,000 – $200,000.
Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- 2nd-year associates: $150,000+ depending on experience
- Bonus eligibility begins at 1,800 billable hours
- Discretionary bonuses tied to billables and performance
